Time Well Spent

I have learned to be in the field of early childhood education is an important source of work I have experienced in my life. In my profession is, I can be both teacher and advocate for young children and their families. In the early childhood field I have opportunities to meet different people cultural contexts, religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds and language. I have learned in being in this field of work that there are many opportunities to apply in learning and development.
I had learned that I can work my way from the bottom to the top when I first started to work in the early childhood education field I had only a high school diploma; look at me now I have worked myself in getting a CDA’s in infant/toddler, AA’s bachelor and master’s degree. I have learned deeply on how to work with many students and families as possible. To explain to them that learning can be fun, and just on the other day a parent told me her son have learned his name and birthday. I have achieved that goal. Learning’s skills from this program are to make reading enjoyable for my entire student’s. I have learned deeply when children understand in what they are experiencing they like doing it. Reading can be fun when you make it come alive to young children. Another skill I have learned that is finding ways to reach other staff by gathering resources, communicating, and learning from each others.
My long-term goal continues my education and understands that learning is an ongoing process, and attending school in accomplishes my master’s degree in education counseling. I will not finish and achieved a master’s degree in education counseling working at an elementary school.
I would like to wish all of my colleagues and the best of wishes and may your dreams come true and you all have a prosperous, successful journey. Remember that the sky is the limit we can accomplish anything when we set out mind and heart to do so. Remember colleagues that being a teacher are a high- quality field to uphold; because we will always be in young children and their families’ lives. So let’s make it a positive one and help compel young mothers and fathers that head start is the right place to start. Thank you so very much Professor Dartt you have proved you are an outstanding lady. May God Blessings be upon each and all of you all?
Sincerely Yours,
Cedar Belle Tyler
My experience and training in the program is it has been a tremendous journey in the early childhood education program. I have been excited to the full extreme getting to know different cultures and races. During this learning process, I have learned that being in the field of early childhood is crucial because I get to meet different cultural contexts. I get to communicate and develop lasting relationships between the children and their families. Working with children means to me that I am a part of children life and world. I feel that I have the most important profession in the world working with young children mean to touch each child’s life. A life that illustrates my experience/learning is commitment when all other sources fail stay commitment and everything will work out fine. I also learn to empower families to help all young children to have a safe, learning, and healthy environment to develop the skills they need for school readiness.
My favorite quotes “Winners never quit and quitters never win.”  Vince Lombardi
“We must use time creatively.”  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence- plus character that is the true gal of education.” Dr. Martin l. King, JR.

Jobs/ Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

The Save the Children Organization “The only international language in the world is a child’s cry,” said Eglantyne Jebb. Eglantyne Jebb is the founder of Save the Children she was a social crusader in 1919. Jebb was arrested in London’s Trafalgar Square for passing out pamphlets “A Starving Baby” with the picture of a malnourished Austrian child. Along with her sister, Dorothy they held a Famine Council meeting at the Royal Albert Hall during this time. She asked for forgiving for her indiscretion, she held up a tin of condensed milk. Stated “There is more practical morality in this tin, than in all creeds." With that declaration, a spontaneous collection was taken up around the hall and the Save the Children Fund was born. I chose this organization because it was founded by a woman who had a heart for children. Eglantyne Jebb had encouraged me to become a sponsor to save the children today Feed the Children is operated by Larry and Francis Jones.
UNICEF Organization was founded in 1946 to helps support every child world to have the rights. UNICEF helps children globally and naturally. UNICEF believes in laying the foundation for all children by nurturing and caring for children are the main purpose for this business. UNICEF is advocates for children to help them get the best start in life. UNICEF promotes young girls with education making sure that they finish primary school and of the benefits in getting education. UNICEF helps both boys and girls to get education this group believes that girls are better thinkers and better citizens. UNICEF provides young children to get the medicine they need such as, immunization against common childhood diseases. UNICEF is part of 190 countries and territories through country programmes and national Committees. I chose this company because help provides for young children all over the world and help fight the spread of diseases. UNICEF put the children first and helps families to create a healthy and caring environment.

National WIC Association means women, infants, and children this program is for low- income pregnant and post- part women, infants, and children up to the age of 5. WIC is a public health nutrition program under the jurisdiction of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The WIC program is funded by annually by the U.S. Senate and House Appropriates Committee. In 1972 WIC was founded for pregnant mothers, infants, and children; in 1974 WIC was opened in Kentucky; 1974 WIC was operating in 45 States; in 1975 WIC was established as a permanent Program by Legislation P.L. 94- 105. I chose this organization because WIC has come through for my daughter and has saved so many young children lives. Because you never know what is in a child’s environment after he leaves your present.

I went back home to Mississippi to look for a job and a place for me to live. I wanted the position I wanted was a teacher into preschool the classroom. But the boss said that they were not hiring at this time. There is a shortage on finding jobs in Mississippi and Arkansas. I would like to move back home to be with my families and work at the Head start center in Columbus, Mississippi.
I would need my bachelor degree and experience in working with children and have a heart for young children. To be willingly chance and not to be afraid to speak my mind. To watched out for my children. Because it’s all about the children.

Jobs/ Roles in the ECH Community: National/Federal Level

At least three nation/federal Organizations or Communities of practical that appealed to you and why you chose them
The National Red Cross Organization-was founded in May 21, 81 by Clara Barton she was the first president of the organization in Washington, DC. Clara Barton held the first meeting in the home of Senator   Omar D. Conger (R, MI). In the first meeting there were only 13 people including Barton, Conger and Republican William Lawrence (R, RC. Responds to more than 70,000 disasters, house or apartment fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents, explosions, and other national and local man- made disasters.
I chose this challenge because it is a non-profit organization and they help people who are in need. They help all people not just a certain race, color but all people and that is love.

Feed the Children Organization- was founded in 1979 it is operated and run by a nonprofit organization; by christen valves, whose stated mission is “Providing hope and resources to those without life’s essentials.” In 2011, Feed the Children distributed more than 104 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and their families in all 50 states and internationally. Feed the Children has worked around the globe in its 33 years history. On March 1, 2013 the move will reach 21 countries Feed the Children is the 25th largest charity in the United States. It headquarter is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I chose Feed the Children because I support this nonprofit organization and I am a Christian and this is what Christian do help the needy and them who are in need.
The United Way Organization - is a nonprofit organization which works with more than 1,200 local. The United Way Offices located throughout the countries in a coalition of the charitable organization. To help with fundraising and support. The focus of the United States is identifying and resolving pressing community issues, as well as making measurable changes in the communities through partnerships with schools, government agencies, business, organizing labor, financial institutions, development corporations, volunteers and neighborhood associations, the faith community, and others. The issues the United Way focus on are determined locally because of the diversity of the communities served. The United Way main focus area is education, income, and health.
The reason way I chose the United Way is they support the communities locally, regionally, and nationally. They are doing what each and every one of Christian people need to be doing. Seeing their brothers and sister in need and doing something about it. I salute all of these organizations who are supporting their communities and showing love for each individuals. I pray for these people  and keep them in my spirit.
Job opportunities (current available or not) that interest you
Mississippi County Head Start has an opening for an area Center Director. The interest I have in this job I've the opportunity to travel from center to center. This will give me an opportunity to travel out of town and mostly I will get to meet different diverse of families and people.
Skills and experience you would need to competently fulfill each of these roles
The skills I will need to operate as the position of the Center Director I would need a least an associate‘s degree or a bachelor’s degree in the field of early childhood education. I must serve as a resource in getting information back and forward to the staff. I must be able to develop relationships with parents and must be willingly to attend 20/30 hours of trainings. I must have the experience in working with low- income families. Know how to run an anti-bias center; to know how to be an assistance and work as a team. Be ready to give feedback when needed; making such that the total domains are in each classroom. Is in operation social/emotion, physical, language, and cognitive development. The most important thing is to know that it is all about the children and knowing how to apply the” Platinum Rule” “Treat everyone like you wants to be treated.”

Local and State Levels

Paralyzed Veterans of American is an organization for paralyzed policemen who have been hurt in the line of duty. I admire all of the paralyzed veterans because they risk their lives for their countries and communities. Most of these veterans got hurt in the line of fire and they need help in taking care of their families and themselves. When these young men and women sign up to become policemen and women, they know their changing that they make not get back with their families alive. The Paralyzed Veterans of American is an organization for helping policemen and women to get the benefits they need in healthcare, education and training and career opportunities. “Paralyzed Veterans is dedicated to empowering our disabled veterans to used full, productive lives.
Feed the Children Organization was founded in 1979 is a non-profit relief Organization, guided by Christian values, who stated mission, is “providing hope and resources for those without life’s essentials." Feed the Children give out more than 104 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and their families in all 50 states and internationally, during its 33-year history, Feed the Children has worked around the globe. I admire this organization because it helps supply a safe environment for young children and their families with clean water, nutrition meals, clothing and a chance to get an education. These are very poor individuals who need our help I also am a big supporter in feeding the Children. I was amazed when I discover that National Association of Educators for Homeless Children and Youth), this program has donated more than 500,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, food and personal care items to the homeless children enrolled in U.S. public schools. In Africa, Asia, Central and South America and The Philippines, Feed the Children provides more than 350,000 meals daily through school feeding programs (Feed the Children, 2011).
The sisterhood is a Christian Organization was founded in 2011, by Cedar Belle Tyler of Blytheville, Arkansas. The sisterhood is a group of women who have been divorced, abused, and any life problems that hinder their personal walk with God. The Lord gave Ms. Tyler this after she went through a terrifying divorce and experienced the hurt and pains so many women have suffered and need help. So I answer the Lord voice, and we meet at different residents to make the sisters feel comfortable. We discuss many different subjects such as how to live saved when you are single? Is there life after a divorce? How do one survival with children after a divorce? How do children cope when daddy is away and not coming home? This organization helps support in many different matters such as financial, communication sometimes we just need to have someone to be there when we need them. This is what we do help support and care for our young children and their families in the community. (Cedar Tyler, 2011).
The job opportunities my heart’s desire is to be an education counselor and owning my own daycare center with all diverse of families. I would like to have a center fill with all children such as, children with disabilities, Black, White, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and all others people.
The skills I would need are receiving my degree in counseling and need the financial funds to operation and employees that I can trust them. But most of all I have to have a heart for young children and their families. Because I know that it’s not all about me but it about the young children who I come in contact with each day.

The Last Goodbyes

My most passionate hope for my future as an early childhood professional is to earn my Master’s degree in early childhood education. I will continue my studying in school because I know that it is an ongoing process. I cannot comprehend too much of experience in teaching young children. I want to have a passionate of a sense of humor knowing that learning should be fun. I know that we have our differences in learning and development because not every person learns the same. Because we all are different whether, in our sizes, color, or shape, we are different but do respect and treated equally. I know in order to be an effective teacher I have to make learning fun to each child. I have to be a teacher of passion to respect each child and their families. To be a quick to rescue my children’s when they need me. To love in what I am during by teaching young children. I have to press my way when I do not feel like it. I have to have a perseverance spirit. I have to be flexibility to be there when two or more duties are calling me. I have patience with young children and their families because no two children learn alike. I have to study each child learning level. I have to take the risk in adding on to the children abilities in learning and development. Most of all to recognize all cultures differences and respect them to the best of my knowledge. To be the best positive role model in young children and their families lives.

I feel that you all are a part of my learning and development family, and I appreciate all of you. I would like, for all of my colleagues, to know that I pray for you and wishes nothing but the best for you all. I would like to thank the Professor from the bottom of my heart how you gave me an opportunity to be an effective learner. Thank you for being there for me and understanding me when I made mistakes, you build my confidence up with the foundation of learning and development. Again thank you Professor. Most of all I want to thank God for my health and strength for making this far, somebody, did not make it, but God saw fit let me come this far. Thank you God! I would like, for my colleagues, to keep in touch with me. Information to reach me by e-mail—tyler.cedar@yahoo.com

Impacts on Early Emotional Development

                                            Eastern and Southern Africa

The area and world I chose was Eastern and Southern Africa because this area where parents and their young children really need help. These people really face many issues and situations that they cannot conquer themselves. The challenges that these families and children in this region of the world are confronting are very serious. There are the spread of HIV Virus, lack of medicines, no clean drinking water, lack of education, and little or no food, and the lack of shelters.
These challenges experiences might have an effect on children’s emotional wellbeing and development. When a child is sick and not healthy haven’t had a nutrition meal he/she can’t consecrate in the classroom. They fall behind the other students in the class because they are too busy trying to see if they smell bad to the other children and scare they will be bullied by their classmates.
(Laureate Education, Inc. 2010). It’s against the law in the state of Arkansas to even let the teachers know if a child is infected by the HIV Virus. But these children don’t have no sought of idea so the live in fear every day. Most teachers don’t understand about the virus so they treat the child different even when the child not potty trained in their eyes. I see this happen just about every day where I work at just imagine what these people go through over in the Africa.” We’re so quick to say in your elbow Johnny when children sneeze.” What about knowing a child having Aid or HIV will we accept that child? These families, children and the communities are faces hard and critical time.
My personal and professional reflection  that we should all as parents and professionals ourselves apply the” Platinum Rule “Treat other as we want them to treat us.”  Every person need to be respected and deserve to be loved. I have seemed children with behavior issues be treated different from normal children. This shouldn’t even be because we didn’t make ourselves,” It’s God who made us and not ourselves. Every professional that are in the field of education need to examine themselves and see do they have the heart for this job. Because you can’t teach every child the same students are easy to catch on, some don’t want to catch on, and some just need that one- on-one confrontation to catch on. “Don’t fear or worry about having a child with special needs in your classroom, center, or school .See the whole child, not just the hearing impairment, the cerebral palsy, or the autism. Remember they are just Kids.” (Ray, J. A., Pewitt-Kinder, J., & George, S. 2009).
The insights I have learned that we have students in our classroom who are living in poverty and we may never know it.  Give children second at lunch making sure that they have enough during lunch period.  Because families are ashamed to let anyone knows to get help.  I can give out news letters to inform families where to go to get resources.  It’s essential for me to treat these children special and focus my full attention on them. To teach and love them like it’s my last time, have a positive mind that every child is made for learning and development. . I must realize that “A MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE.”
